Paris Watch - Accelerating climate action in Hong Kong and the region
Paris Watch project is designed to push the ambition level of Hong Kong & neighbouring cities for climate action using original research, media promotion, networking, community engagement and training. The programme will measure HK’s performance as a city against the spirit and the letter of the Paris Climate Agreement over several years, building a longitudinal assessment of year-on-year improvement as well as a horizontal comparison with neighbouring cities. The programme will encourage dialogue on climate action in a variety of community-level meetings, and also train young people to participate more effectively in international conferences and initiatives on sustainability issues linking global and local policy actions.
“The overriding and deeply significant finding of the work is that the next 4 years will determine whether or not the world’s megacities can deliver their part of the ambition of the Paris Agreement.”
