Chong Chan Yau, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, CarbonCare InnoLab

Mr Chong Chan Yau is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of CarbonCare InnoLab. Mr Chong graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1981. He obtained a Master's degree in Information Systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1985. He served in the Hong Kong Government as an Administrative Officer. He also served as an Executive Director of Oxfam Hong Kong and a member of the Board of Directors of Oxfam International. He then joined the University of Hong Kong as the Director of Student Development for its Centre for Development and Resources for Students. Mr Chong is active in promoting civil society in Hong Kong. He is the President of the Hong Kong Blind Union. He has also been a member of the Education and Publicity Subcommittee of the Council for Sustainable Development, which is an advisory committee to the Hong Kong SAR Government on sustainability issues. Mr Chong has received the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award in 1991 and the MBE honour in 1995 for his outstanding service to the Hong Kong community. In 2012, Mr Chong has been awarded one of the "Leaders of 2011" by the Sing Tao Publishing Co Ltd and an Honorary Fellow by the University of Hong Kong.

Wong Kam Sing, Secretary for the Environment, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

Mr KS Wong was born in 1963 and graduated from the Department of Architecture of the University of Hong Kong. He received further education on sustainable built environment in the postgraduate program from the University of British Columbia in Canada. He assumed the post of the Secretary for the Environment of the HKSAR Government on 1 July 2012.

As an architect by profession, Mr Wong has been promoting sustainable built environment since 1990s. His designs and researches on sustainable built environment have won him various local, regional and international awards. He served as the founder Chairman of the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, the Chairman of the Professional Green Building Council and the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Green Building Council, and has contributed to the promotion and research of the standards and guidelines for sustainable built environment applicable to the high-density urban environment of Hong Kong.

During his tenure as the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong has launched and updated a number of policy blueprints covering climate actions, energy saving, air quality, popularisation of electric vehicles, waste managementair quality, waste management, energy saving, climate actions and biodiversity.

Wong May Kay, Head of Communications and Corporate Sustainability, Hang Seng Bank

May Wong is the Head of Communications and Corporate Sustainability at Hang Seng Bank. She oversees the Bank’s communications strategy and a wide-ranging portfolio of sustainability and community investment programmes. She is a media and corporate communications professional, having held senior management roles at major HK and international organisations. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Natalie Chung, Committee, Council for Sustainable Development and the Green Tech Fund Assessment of the HKSAR

Natalie Chung Sum Yue is a climate advocate and social entrepreneur born and raised in Hong Kong. Inspired by a polar explorer since young, Natalie devotes her life to climate action and environmental education. At the age of 18, she co-founded V’air Hong Kong, a social enterprise which promotes low-carbon local tourism as means to mitigate climate change. She has been appointed to serve at advisory councils of the Hong Kong Government, including the Council for Sustainable Development and Green Tech Fund Assessment Committee. Natalie holds an MPhil in Environmental Change and Management at University of Oxford, supported by the Esther Yewpick Lee Millennium Scholarship.

Carly is the Co-Founder of Asaqua and the Project Executive of V'air. After graduation, she visited Uganda to investigate the water scarcity problem. Her experience drives her studying topics like climate justice and sustainable development. She then joins V'air to promote a low-carbon lifestyle in Hong Kong and raise awareness of environmental issues.

Cheryl Cadeline Lee, Youth Environmentalist, Singapore

Cheryl is a Youth Environmentalist, awarded the HSBC NYAA Youth Environmental Award by the Singapore National Youth Achievement Council and HSBC in April 2016. Cheryl also received her NYAA Gold Award by President Halimah Yaccob in 2017.

Believing that doing good is contagious, Cheryl takes action by working closely with the community. In issues relating towards environmental sustainability and gender equality rights.

Hailey Campbell, Climate Ambassadors Program Director, Care About Climate

Hailey Campbell (she/her) is a youth advocate and change-maker for climate justice and sustainable development who holds a Master's of Sustainability Solutions and Bachelor of Science in Sustainability from Arizona State University. She is a cross-sector leader with experience leading youth-policy initiatives at UNFCCC events, designing climate action guidelines for islands and Arizona State University, developing zero-waste strategies and partnerships, and crafting climate education materials. She is currently serving as an Americorps VISTA for the City and County of Honolulu's Office of Climate Change, Sustainability, and Resiliency where she is leading their equitable community engagement strategy for their climate adaptation plan. Additionally, as the Interim Executive Director at youth-led climate action non-profit, Care About Climate, and Member of the Youth Constituency to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (YOUNGO), she empowers young climate activists from around the world to find their climate voice and turn their ideas into climate solutions.

Mitzi Jonelle Tan, International Spokesperson, Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines

Mitzi Jonelle Tan is the convener and international spokesperson of Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines or YACAP. She is also active on Fridays for Future International, the international youth climate movement as YACAP's representative. YACAP is an alliance of individuals and student formations with unities of climate justice, immediate youth led collective climate action, defense of our environmental defenders, and system change.

Solomon Yeo, Climate Activist, Solomon Island

Solomon Yeo (BA/LLB) is a climate activist from the Solomon Islands. He is working alongside civil society and youth in the region to advance Pacific climate justice. Solomon was one of the 26 law students who founded the Pacific Islands Students Fighting Climate Change (PISFCC) in 2019. He currently serves as the organisation’s Campaign Director. The PISFCC are currently campaigning for a UN General Assembly Resolution on seeking an Advisory Opinion from the International Court of Justice on climate change and human rights.

Graduating from Calvin University with a Bachelor’s degree of International Affairs, Priscilla works as a Sustainability Consultant at Carbon Care Asia. She is responsible for sustainability reporting and stakeholder engagement for listed companies in Hong Kong. Prior to CCA, Priscilla has extensive experience working in an international NGO sector and has co-founded an organization called The Shared Meal, which crowdsources meatless home-cooked recipes and memories, aiming to link climate to our everyday meals. As a climate advocate, she is a YOUNGO member and ran an initiative called Solmunity to promote community solar energy in Hong Kong previously. Also, she enjoys yoga and hiking in her spare time.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute (HKJCDPRI) was set up in 2014 with the generous donation from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Housed in and led by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, the HKJCDPRI aims to build a prepared community in Hong Kong to respond to disasters. With our partners from various sectors including the academia, government departments, and community organisations, we provide a platform for comprehensive training, capacity building, research, policy discussion and knowledge exchange to enhance our knowledge in building resilience in the community.

Annabelle studied in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Asian Business Studies. Being passionate about social innovation and entrepreneurship, she aspires to promote climate change and ESG. She has deepened her understanding of social innovation and sustainability through an impact investing fund internship and volunteering in different organisations. She has rich experience in organising various types of activities, including TEDxTalk and Hackathon. She sees herself as an adventurer who explores new opportunities and improves upon herself constantly in the sustainability field.

Charles Tsz Kai Lam is an environmental and building engineer who has managed green building and civil projects since 2019. He graduated with his Master degree at HKUST and his Bachelor degree at EdUHK. He is a Chartered Building Engineer of CABE, a full member of CIWEM and an individual member of China Green Building Council (Hong Kong). He is a certified sustainable development planner at WISDP. He is also the Regional Focal Point of Asia at NGO - UNITE 2030. He holds different green building and sustainable infrastructure professional qualifications - WELL AP, LEED AP, BEAM Affiliate, BREEAM AP and CEEQUAL Assessor.

Ryan is a final-year undergraduate student studying at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He majors in Environmental Science with double minors in Psychology and Biology.
As an avid environmental advocate, Ryan actively reaches out for myriad volunteering and internship experiences that can sharpen his environmental education and science communication skills. Notably, in 2021, he was heavily involved in a local environmental documentary focussing on marine debris in Hong Kong.
Since Ryan's primary focus is marine conservation, he is determined to pursue postgraduate education which empowers him to bridge the communication gap between academia and the public.

Along with her interest in creative media, specializing in video and graphic design. Kylie came onboard with CarbonCare InnoLab in 2021, focusing on the Jockey Club SolarCare Programme. Kent is the Co-founder of Carbon Zero New Energy limited. Carbon Zero New Energy limited promotes the development of green energy in China. He worked as a Senior Consultant of Carbon Trust (UK) Asia Office for 2 years and also as a Director for Low Carbon Development of ZheJiang Ningbo Damuwan Low Carbon City Development Administration for 4 years. Devoted more than 15 years, he has extensive experience in green energy and sustainable city development.

King Lai

King Lai, CFO and Group Director, Leo Paper Group (HK) Ltd.

Mr. Lai King Lung is CFO and Group Director who oversees the Group’s Finance & Audit Department, including the Legal Team. He is also in charge of the Group’s human resources and administration in Hong Kong. Besides, King Lai is Managing Director of Leo United, one of the packaging businesses of the Group, responsible for the sales and business development. In 2020, Mr. Lai was appointed as Chancellor of Jiangmen Astros Vocational and Technical School.

K K Wong is the Head of Environmental, Social & Governance for Hang Seng Bank. He is responsible for leading the bank-wide ESG development for the Hang Seng Bank organization. With aspiration of becoming a leading entity to drive ESG in the banking industry, it is worthwhile to mention that Hang Seng Bank has been awarded Grand Winner for the ‘Best ESG Report – Large –cap’ category in last year’s Hong Kong ESG Reporting Awards.

Mr. Wong is a seasoned banking executive with extensive experience in transformation, project management, customer experience and business planning in various positions in both Hang Seng Bank and also HSBC.

Hermia Chan, Youth Delegate, COP26

Hermia Chan is a final-year Global Studies student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Being born and raised in Hong Kong, Hermia noticed the absence of climate change education in Hong Kong secondary and tertiary curriculum. She therefore co-founded the Network of Environmental Student Societies (NESS) early 2021, with an aim to increase youth participation and awareness in climate change and actions through a multi-disciplinary lens and perspectives.

Mark is a year 3 undergraduate, majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Politics at the University of Hong Kong. He is the Co-Founder of Network of Environmental Student Societies (NESS), a local youth-led organization that aims to enhance climate change awareness and capacity of youth. Mark is also selected as the official HK delegate of the ClimateForce 2041 Antarctica Expedition to observe real-time changes caused by climate change on a carbon-negative journey. With his learnings and experience, Mark aspires to empower youth and raise public awareness on climate actions as a speaker, advocate, and youth leader.

Ryan Fung, Youth Delegate, COP26

Ryan is a certified ESG Analyst of European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS) and a senior advisor in CUP Media. He is actively advocating the concept of ESG in the commercial sector and sharing views on both mass media and social media. In 2021, he published the first two Chinese ESG books in Hong Kong. He is experienced in lobbying, consulting, government affairs, public relations and marketing across the political and commercial industries, given the experience he earned in Jervois One, DiDi and Xiaomi. He has been writing op-eds in various financial media for over seven years, so he is well connected across the financial world.

Wai Fun Ho, Youth Delegate, COP26

Fun is a social policy graduate and now working as a Project Officer in the Centre for Greater China Studies at the Education University of Hong Kong. Having been working in higher education institutions for years, she realizes the importance of knowledge transfer between universities and the public sector. She actively writes environmental policy articles on both social media and print media, such as Stand News, CitizenNews, and Mingpao, sharing insights based on empirical research to impact the formulation of environmental policies and to promote environmental sustainability. It is important to put words into action. She initiated Solmunity, a renewable energy advocacy group under CCIL’s training program, lobbying for multilateral actions to achieve carbon neutrality and mobilizing green economies through involving citizens in the social investment schemes of solar panels.
