RE Webinar #8: Dance with the wind: Understanding Wind Power
When you ride on a long-distance train in foreign countries, you may see giant wind turbines outside the window. With white blades turning around, these wind turbines are very beautiful. However, what do we know about wind power? Do you know how much energy is generated by a wind turbine? What happen if there’s no wind? Would it be very noisy when running? What are the conditions of building farms? Which places in Hong Kong are suitable for building wind farms?
You may have a lot of questions about wind power. At RE Webinar #8 on 21 August, we invited two experts from the wind power industry to answer these questions. Mr Can Poon and Ms Cathryn Chu, both with rich experience in the industry and have been involved in many wind power projects, shared with us the basic knowledge of wind power, its current status and trend. Can shared his interesting experience in building a wind farm in Gobi Desert, Mongolia.
