New Solar project to power US amusement park

In 2017, the global solar market grew nearly 30% worldwide, and the shift towards a clean and sustainable future began to take flight. An amusement park operator in the US is leading by example.

Proposed in 2015, Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey partnered with a solar energy company for a 23.5-megawatt project. This clean energy project included an installation of solar panels on carports in the visitor’s parking lots, and also the construction of a solar panel farm that covers 40 acres near the park.

The clean-energy approach by power-huge amusement parks like Six Flags Great Adventure may just start a green trend among other amusement park giants in the world. Using solar panels reduces the park’s reliance on harmful fossil fuels. Currently, the project is complete and it is reported that there is enough power to account for over 98% of the park’s energy needs. The actions of Six Flags Great Adventure show that green energy can transform the way we interact and enjoy leisure time by implementing solar panels on a massive scale.
